Thanks for your interest in “Agency Digital Day.” I have been asked by many models, “do you take Polaroids?” I decided to spend a day shooting nothing but Polaroids for models who need them taken. Agency Digital Day is happens every month on the second Saturday at West St. Studios in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

What exactly is an “agency digital”?

Agency digitals (or “Polaroids”) are a specific collection of photos taken of you in natural light with no makeup, no fancy lighting, no fancy wardrobe styling, no fancy posing and no retouching. Agency digitals are used by agencies and clients as a reference to determine how you look “in real life.” In the “olden days,” Polaroid instant cameras were used to ensure that the photo was current, candid and unretouched.

Agency digitals are not put into your portfolio, but are only submitted when an agency or client asks for them. You should keep your agency digitals up-to-date as your build, hair, look and/or weight changes.

What exact pictures will we be taking?

We will be shooting nine (9) poses. They are:

1. Face: smiling, showing teeth
2. Face: not smiling
3. Head: smiling, showing teeth
4. Head: not smiling
5. Profile: facing left
6. Profile: facing right
7. Full-length: facing forward
8. Full-length: facing left
9. Full-length: facing right

If time permits, we will also be doing a few full-length shots where you can show off your posing skills. These are not required, but can be fun.

What does this cost?

Agency Digitals cost $10 per person.

What do I need to bring?

In addition to the $10 payment, please print out, complete and bring the attached form with you on Saturday. If you do not have access to a printer, I will have blank forms with me for you to fill out on-site.

You should also bring the outfit you will be wearing for the shoot (underwear, bra, panties, etc.) and lotion if you would like to moisturize before your shoot.

What about hair and makeup?

Your face, hair and skin should be fresh, clean and simple. Lotion to keep your skin moisturized is fine, but remember that a successful photo shoot of this kind also requires a healthy diet, plenty of exercise and a good night’s sleep. Wear antiperspirant, but do not wear any white deodorant.

Men: If you are going to shave, do not do shave on Saturday morning. Since these pictures will not be retouched, we want your face to be fully recovered from any irritation from shaving.

Women: Wear your hair up, or pull it back into a ponytail.

What about wardrobe?

Men should be in briefs or boxer briefs (not boxer shorts), and they should be a solid color, but not white.

Women should be in a simple bikini or bra and panties, and they should be a solid color, but not white.

Where and when is this happening?

I will be at West St. Studios shooting from 11:30am until 2:30pm in Studio B. You can show up at any time between 11:30am and 2:30pm.

Can I bring a friend?

You are welcome to bring a friend, but only if your friend is interested in having his/her agency digitals taken. He/she will also be required to bring a payment of $10.
