FAQ

What types of photography do you do?
I consider myself a fashion, fitness and lifestyle photographer. Additionally, I can be booked to shoot events and performances. My commercial work (including my video portfolio), can be viewed at Big City Baby.
Where do you shoot? Do you have a studio?
I shoot either on my roof in Stuyvesant Heights, Brooklyn (A/C trains to Utica Ave.) or at 3rd Ward in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn (L train to Morgan Ave.). I am also available to shoot on-location.
What kind of camera do you shoot with?
Generally I shoot stills with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and/or a Canon EOS 7D. My lenses of choice are the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM, the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM and the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM. For video, I also shoot with a Canon XA10.
I am an aspiring model looking to build my portfolio. Why should I pay a photographer? Can’t I find free services on craigslist and Model Mayhem?
Of course you can. And if budget is your only concern, perhaps you should. However, if image quality, professionalism and a rewarding experience are also factors, I would at least recommend you meet with me for a pre-shoot consultation.
What’s with the pre-shoot consultation? I’ve never been asked to meet with a photographer before.
A pre-shoot consultation accomplishes several things. First, it allows me to see what you really look like. We’ll discuss your physical features, but more importantly, how you feel about them. I might make some suggestions in regards to grooming, hair styling or makeup for our shoot. I’m able to review your portfolio and determine what images are missing or aren’t strong enough. If you don’t have a portfolio, we determine what direction you’d like to go in, career-wise and discuss your marketability and how your portfolio should be positioned.
Do you retouch your own images?
I do basic color correcting and retouching (e.g., blemishes, scars, etc.). I do not consider myself a “Photoshop Wizard,” so if you would prefer more extreme retouching, I’d be happy to discuss options with you.
Do I get all of my images on a CD?
I can provide you with low-resolution, watermarked proofs on CD/DVD to help you decide which images you’d like to have color-corrected and retouched, but proofs are provided for review purposes only. Reproduction, alteration, and/or distribution of the watermarked proofs is considered a violation of our agreement. The color-corrected and retouched Final Images are generally provided as prints and as low-resolution RGB JPEG files for posting to web sites (e.g., Facebook, Model Mayhem, Twitter, etc.).
Do you print images?
Certainly, and if you book me for a photo shoot, I include 9×12 prints in the package price. While the standard size of a model’s portfolio is 9×12, I can print images as large as 16×20.
Can I purchase an existing image?
To purchase prints or license existing images, please visit Big City Baby.
